Books are my weakness. I have a large library at home, and also a large collection of old books (old photos too but this is for another post). A few months ago I received a proposal from the ArtJournal Festival of Austria to participate in their selection to publish a book about artists who work in or with books. And the truth is that I didn't even think about it! What an illusion to be part of this project created by two female artists so dedicated to the creative process, Christine Ebner & Michelle Schratz.
After months, the day when the book will see the light of day is approaching, but here is the preview of the cover and the scoop that the prologue is written by the intuitive artist Kia Cannons.
The "Art Journal Book" is a stunning collection of works by 43 women artists from around the world who share a deep love for working IN and WITH books. This diverse and inclusive collection - curated by Christine Ebner & Michelle Schratz, edited by Sabine Abels, and with a foreword by intuitive artist Kia Cannons - celebrates the transformative power and the unique, intuitive visual language that emerges when artists create primarily for themselves, rather than an audience.
The book is scheduled to be available for purchase on 9th May 2024!
Los libros son mi debilidad. Tengo una gran biblioteca en casa, y también una gran colección de libros antiguos (fotos antiguas también pero esto es para otro post). Hace unos meses recibí una propuesta del Festival ArtJournal de Austria para participar en su selección para publicar un libro sobre artistas que trabajan en o con libros. ¡Y la verdad es que ni lo pensé! Qué ilusión formar parte de este proyecto creado por dos artistas femeninas tan entregadas al proceso creativo, Christine Ebner & Michelle Schratz.
Después de meses, se acerca el día en que el libro verá la luz, pero aquí tenéis el adelanto de la portada y la primicia de que el prólogo está escrito por la intuitiva artista Kia Cannons.
